The Activity Plan
We have created a sort of all or nothing approach towards activity.
If I am not exercising hard,
then I am not really burning up any
more fat. Walking is ok but it does not really burn up any fat.
Both these statements are so wrong. Every day, without exercise, the average woman, will burn up around 70 grams in fat. That is nearly 700 calories in fat.
Every day, the average man, without exercise, will burn up around 95 grams in fat. That is nearly 900 calories in fat.
Another aspect to consider is time. We now try to cram as much into our lives as we can. So looking at an activity plan that can fit into your life has got far more chance of success. Even if you are a regular gym user you will benefit from the Intashape activity plan. The activity plan is based on being active for 10 minute periods. If you do three 10 minutes periods of activity in a day, you will have been active for a total of 30 minutes.
The areas of your body that use up the most amount of fat are also important. Areas of your body like your legs, thighs and buttocks are the best to use to burn fat. The activities that use these areas include:
- Exercise classes and gym workouts
- Walking up and down stairs
- Swimming
- Cycling
- Brisk walking
- Walking to and from work
- Walking around at work
- Active housework and active gardening
The Intashape Plan for activity is based on scoring activity 1 point for every 10 minutes of any of the activities shown above. You can score up to a maximum of 5 points (50 minutes) a day. By using 10 minutes periods you can easily do 30 minutes or more of activity a day. This will take the number of calories you use as energy to over 2,000 a day.
